As many of you already know, I am a chocolate chip cookie fanatic. I am always in search of the best chocolate chip cookie. This past year, I found and tried numerous versions of this ultimate favorite.
And...I've learned two things that can make a chocolate chip cookie taste even better:
1. Adding some portion of dark brown sugar (for chewiness)
2. Using kosher salt rather than iodized salt (for that salty-sweet taste)
I did this to my cousin Andria's Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. Instead of 1 cup light brown sugar, I now use 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup dark brown sugar. I also use kosher salt for the regular salt. It allows you to taste the salt with each cookie bite.
Here is the ranking of how I enjoyed the different chocolate chip recipes I made this year.
